Free Within – Acrylic Media on Canvas
There lived a soul,
in mauves and blues
Forever questioned –
Why not bright hues?
Here they are
in glory and sheen,
some colors of colors
that slept within.
What met your eye
was a body true.
beyond it
there are dreams,
…there are depths
unfathomable
unseen.

This painting is an expression of abstract observation but has a form to it. It was not madness – like my many other works. This acrylic painting was planned and composed to be what it is. The colors happened by themselves for they never need to be planned, but the crevices were pre-destined; pre-historic.

Closer look at the art work
Geologic abstracts have a charm of their own. No rock, mineral, or landscape can be ever alike. There can never be a composition repeated in nature. Like DNA, its amazingly different form one another – but yet so connected and related.
Be it mountains, trees, rocks or smoothened river pebbles, each one by themself make their identity known. But they all are so different and unique. There is romance in sole and whole. Soli Deo Gloria.
I guess the yellow had to make itself come through in the most unlikeliest of places. But that is also what lies within that remains unseen.
Each section of this painting, when zoomed, looks like a painting by itself because of its details. My fasicnation for these kind of paintings and deep-rooted art is going to stay this way so you can expect to see more abstracts here.
The techique for painting this kind of composition (in either oils or acryic) is shared in my tutorial on creating geologic abstracts.
I cherish this one. I look at it and wonder how deep those crevices would go in the real rocks. And wonder how deep things really are. That there are no ordinary moments or things. That what we now see is yet to be seen.
