Another canvas devoured – but with a story behind it. These flourish swirls are all over the web and very much in fashion. But these patterns are close to my heart as my mother use to draw this pattern on my hands with henna, when I was a little kid. She had even embroidered a dupatta full of this design for me with her own hands. Swirls are easy on hand and cathartic to draw. The black canvas was more than inviting to have them drawn. Next time I do this, I intend to draw it much finer and intrinsic. Wish me luck 🙂

I just dont know what to say…overwhelmed…it is beautiful and looks lovely, where you wanted it to be. Will miss you….just knowing you are a few doors away, even if we hardly met, was a warm feeling. Take care and make a great year ahead.

Thanks JAM. Swirls are so much in media vogue now… I can see them everywhere – TV, Pints ads, etc. I am planning to make a more intricate swirl patterns next.

These are the songs that your mother sings,
Then, now and forever.
Every note from her throat is Spring,
Every chant, a Summer.
When she pauses, it seems like a wintery breeze,
Soothing, and inviting warmth.
And when she hums, it’s like the rain,
Bountiful, and delightful.
So dear, she sings her tunes,
Then, now and forever.
Patterns that you draw today,
Will into something else transform,
And become a pure love-song,
For your little one.
Love,
Mystic Peace Poet

You are right. So right about this. Even the lullabies that I heard as a child are the ones I sing to my kid. Such beautiful writing gift you have to have written this so simply. God bless you.
