Here comes another painting which took woefully long time to finish. Layer after layer, colors tones and hues kept changing till I could look at it from distance and say – done. Painting in midst mayhem does tell upon the canvas. I guess it is evident here.
Fire Within painting takes my passion for impasto to another level. The only catch is that I have not used any modelling paste or gesso to get the thickness. Those are the oils; thick strokes of dense colors that lend in their highlights, when viewed from sides.
This oil painting is related to Deep Rooted series but is changing its colors and emotions drastically. The tones are getting darker and deeper with every stroke. The photo does not show its colors and hues well enough. Sometimes I wonder if it is done yet. But if I do not say that to myself, I will probably never be able to move onto another painting.
It took a long time for Fire Within to reach where it is. Today it stands dried and ready on a 36″ x 24″ box stretched canvas, that needs no framing and is ready to be hung on the wall.

Just: Im glad that you are not disappointed this time. Hope to keep showing you something new all the time. As far as paintings go, I seem to be thinking and dreaming of them all the time. Im kinda living in a paint world at the moment. Life is so wonderful – to live amongst paintings. I guess Im going a bit mad. But thats the way to be 🙂
I will keep you posted of any new paintings. Or better, you can subscribe to my feed so that you will know when it happens. Keep in touch.

Your talent is beyond this world….it is from deep within..and this is why your deep rooted series is one of your strongest and most powerful work, because it examines our conscience, and the depth of life.
Love all you do, always……….and forever. Keep those strokes on fire!
I once tried something many moons ago…and gave the painting away to someone. When I was in my previous home back east, I took sand, mixed natural pigments and hardening material, and applied strong wide strokes with my fingers…the result was very interesting and 3 dimensional. Later I added some gold leafing…I still have 2 of that series left. One day will send you a gliclee print of it.
I mentioned this since I noticed you really like the multi-dimensional quality of the impasto which our beloved Van Gogh loved as well.
