Summer Art Camp – Basic Info:

A snapshot of what to expect
- Learn basic painting techniques
- Enhance sketching and drawing skills

- Experiment in watercolors, acrylics & oils.

The batch size is limited to ensure personal attention and active discussion. The participants are provided with branded art materials and supplies. Many paintings will be made at the camp that can be taken home for framing and display. At the end of the course, a certificate of course completion will be awarded.
Who is conducting this camp?
The WanderingMist art camp is being conducted by Ishrath, a self-taught artist, from Hyderabad. She has been painting since her childhood and had explored many styles before arriving at her style and expression. Here is a link to her art profile. She loves to teach kids as they are good at absorbing the concept of art, carefree in their works & expression, and are impressionable. They carry good lessons in mind for most part of their life. As much as she teaches, she learns from them.
How will this art camp help?
Art exposure not only helps children to create paintings, but also enhances their creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. There are many hidden lessons in art that apply to life.
Unlike most summer camps where kids are exposed to many activities such as painting, dance, drama, music, etc., the WanderingMist camp primarily focuses on the art of painting. This gives us andthe kid, an opportunity to go a little more deeper into the subject; beyond mere sketching and rough drawings.
The child gets to see many styles of paintings, interact and discuss the techniques, touch and feel the paints to understand their capability, watch and practice many painting sessions and explore themselves. They attain a certain level of understanding, as they are art-literate, and can see/ visualise a painting with better understanding. If not painters, they end up being good art appreciators.
Participants will learn how to successfully compose, build and finish a painting. With continued practice, they will develop their individualistic style.
What to wear for the art camp?
Since the campers are going to be working and experimenting with paints like acrylics, oils and their mediums, its best to send them in comfortable casuals, as there might be spots and stains. Aprons will be provided in-house for their sessions.
After the Art Camp, what?
This 3-week art camp that packs in theory, techniques, and tools for deeper discoveries into color, form, and paintings. Since the art camp gives the participants an introduction to painting basics and techniques, the participants who are interested can pursue a formal advanced course or practice in their free time.
Art is something which cannot be taught. How they take in, assimilate and pursue art is best left to them. You can merely expose to the little minds to a world of possibilities. It is best for you to let your child express how and when they would like to be artistic.
